Sara Sandoval Oil Paintings

The aspen cannot be considered a single tree but rather a family of trees connected by an expansive interconnected root system, this connection Is what resonated within Sara. Transplanted here in the United States in 1994, from a small town, Choachi, Columbia. She stumbled upon her passion and talent for nature painting with a small still life of a daisy. As her route system expanded with children and family with a love for the outdoors, Sara Found her inspiration on the many trips to the mountains where she said, “the Aspen speak to me.” Her sons noted this as a slight obsession. The connection to nature, her sons, and her mother who was a poet and artist as well, remain as major influence in her work. Her sons noted this as a slight obsession.    With oil on canvas as her main medium, her work has been showcasing many local galleries, from the Mezzanine Gallery of Holtel Andalusia to the gallery in the La Fonda Hotel of Santa Fe, and many art shows around New Mexico. Sara Also teaches in person painting classes where she reminds her students that hair intent is to teach the joy and therapeutic quality of painting instead of judging the outcome of the work.
