The 5 Steps

Hey Hey!

My name is Skyli Britt and I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I started making jewelry when I was 19 years old and the journey has been like no other. Designing jewelry challenges and enthralls me each day; with each new custom inquiry comes more curiosity and inspiration.

Keep reading to learn more about my custom order process and see some of my favorite projects!

1. Inspiration and Discussion:

This is the stage for day dreaming and talking all the different elements you wish to see in your design; creating a piece of jewelry that speaks to who you are as an individual or a piece of jewelry that speaks volumes to a loved one.

Your information is gathered and I work on a sketch & quote for the next few days. The sketch and quote are free of charge.

2. Customization:

We discuss any changes or specific requests you have in mind once the first sketch has been sent. This step is crucial to ensure that the final piece aligns perfectly with your vision. I encourage people to speak their mind while having fun with the design process.

3. Deposit:

Once the design is finalized, I require a 50% deposit to begin crafting your custom piece. An invoice is sent to your email. The online portal is easy to use and you can adjust your payment amount with ease at the checkout. If you prefer to pay with cash we can set up an appointment or you can visit me on Saturday during business hours. This deposit secures your order and covers the cost of materials and initial work. Welcome to the Skyli Design Family!

4. Craftsmanship:

I get to work, bringing your design to life with precision and care. I have a studio in the downtown store located at 227 Don Gaspar Ave. Unit 17 Santa Fe, NM 87501. I have been creating jewelry for 5 years now and have completed over 50 special/custom orders! The crafting process typically takes 4-6 weeks.

5. Final Payment & Pickup/Delivery:

Once your custom item is ready, I will notify you. You can pick up your unique, handcrafted piece in-store, or if you prefer, we can arrange for secure and convenient delivery to your specified location. The remaining 50% of the payment is due at this point.

And you have now completed the custom ordering process with Skyli Design. You now enjoy your piece of special jewelry and reach out with any questions or concerns. I am always here to help.

Matching Heart Lockets

December 2023

Tazu Hernandez

Tazu is a fellow artist friend of mine and I felt honored that he thought of me to create one of his Christmas gifts. I was beyond excited to create my first locket when and matching pieces of jewelry are always special. Tazu wanted one initial on one side of each locket and then his logo on the front.

Starting with the sketch we settled on a font along with size of the initial. Once Tazu was happy with the design he put his deposit down and I began crafting the lockets.

These were started with a computer generated design file then printed with a 3D printer. I mold that print and then create waxes to send out to be casted. They are casted and returned to me to clean up and assemble. I hand carved the letters and the Prexxure logo.

Once assembled and polished, these lockets clicked close with a satisfying click and exuded personality with the different engraved elements.

Thank you so much for trusting me with this special project Tazu! You are greatly appreciated.

Solid 18K Yellow

Gold Pendant

December 2023

Kyatt Johnson

I grew up Kyatt and my heart was filled with so much joy and gratitude creating this piece for him. He wanted to have a simple, masculine, and elegant design that he could wear everyday if he wished to.

I drew a few different designs for him to choose from and once we had settled on the final design I began working. This was also a computer model which was 3D printed then molded to provide a wax for casting.

This pendant has 10g of solid 18 karat yellow gold and has a hand fabricated 18k yellow gold bail that ads a nice moving element to the pendant.

Thank you so much Kyatt, you helped me create my first 18k yellow gold piece. You are greatly appreciated.
